1. Canary Wharf
This magnificent image shows an overview of Canary Wharf at night time. It was taken from the window of a bar nearby and beautifully shows off the city’s lights. Canary Wharf is one of London’s two main financial districts. It boasts stunning modern architecture and is also home to many of the country’s tallest buildings.
2. China Town
One of the best things about London is its cosmopolitan landscape. If you fancy heading out for an oriental experience, then why not take a trip to China Town? This photograph beautifully captures China Town’s vibrant atmosphere, along with its many authentic shops and restaurants. We love that the huge orange lanterns give the image a warm tint, making it look like a welcoming place to visit.
3. London Bus
This unique photograph captures two of London’s most iconic trademarks, the red double decker buses and telephone boxes. We love how the photographer has edited this black and white shot to pick out the red of the phone box, bus and traffic cone. We can imagine this image in a sleek black photo frame on the walls of stylish contemporary homes.
4. Houses of Parliament
Don’t you just love this enchanting image of the Houses of Parliament? The light dust of snow covering the building makes it look even more regal and grand, almost like something out of a fairy tale. London looks simply beautiful in the snow, visit early on in the year to see for yourself!
5. Big Ben
This night time image of Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament has a real sinister feel to it. We love that the photographer has played around with the lighting and shadow to give it this effect. It stands out amongst other images of the buildings and captures an alternative view.
6. The London Eye
This magical image features the London Eye in all of its glory. Although it looks like a large Ferris wheel in the day time, at night it looks simply enchanting. The London Eye is the largest Ferris wheel in Europe and the most popular paid attraction in the UK. It stands a whopping one hundred and thirty five metres tall and has a diameter of one hundred and twenty metres.
7. London Underground
The underground sign is one of the capital’s trademarks and therefore had to be included in this article! Like with the bus and phone box image, the photographer has picked out the red in the underground sign to make it stand out against the rest of the black and white image.
8. Buckingham Palace
No your eyes are not deceiving you, this is not a modern day photograph of Buckingham Palace, but it sure is an interesting one! This photograph was actually taken just before World War I. As you can see the palace looks every bit as elegant as it does in the present day.
9. Trafalgar Square Lion
This stunning image features a close up of one of the four lions found in Trafalgar Square. The four lions are found at the base of Nelson’s column and are made from bronze. They caused a lot of controversy when they were first revealed, with many people disliking the design of the cast bronze animals.
10. Primrose Hill
This unusual fish eye style image shows members of the public chilling out on Primrose Hill with a beautiful view of the city in sight. The hill has a height of two hundred and fifty six feet, but is well worth the climb when you see the stunning views it has to offer.
