History of the Old Blue Last
During the seventies through to the nineties the Old Blue Last was actually a brothel! This was back when Shoreditch was full of illegal strip joints and the atmosphere was less than pleasant. However it was a pub for three hundred years before that and had a number of famous regulars including the one and only William Shakespeare.
The Vice team have experienced a lot of ups and downs since owning the pub, from having to fix broken ceilings to accidentally ordering doll house furniture to furnish the pub with. Despite its history and the mishaps along the way, the Old Blue Last has grown to become one of the best live music venues in London, which is a huge achievement considering how many venues there are in the capital!
The Old Blue Last is open seven days a week. Opening times for Monday through to Wednesday and Sunday are 12pm to 12am. On Thursdays the pub is open from 12pm until 12:30am and on Friday and Saturday’s (everyone’s favourite nights) it is open from 12pm until 1:30am. Obviously with it being a pub you need to be eighteen and over to enter and have proof of ID if you look under the age of twenty five.
